A funding firm built by an operator.

Northlight Funding helps organizations find, secure, and manage funding — with the practical judgment of someone who has run lean operations in rural Alaska.

Meet the founder

An operator, not just a writer.

W.G. Anaruk is a Bethel-based entrepreneur who has spent 10 years building and running businesses in rural Alaska.

He has managed a busy local coffee shop, co-founded a facility management company, overseen operations and contracts for a 447,000 sq ft commercial property, and today builds technology ventures made for rural Alaska.

That’s why Northlight works differently. WG knows what it’s like to run lean with a small team and a tight budget, because he’s done it. Every application is built by someone who understands operations, budgets, and what it actually takes to deliver a project on the ground.

How we work

Principles we don’t bend.

Northlight is more than a grant writer: funding intelligence, grant strategy, application development, and grant management under one roof.

Flat, published prices

You know the cost before we start. We never take a percentage of your award.

Honest about fit

If an opportunity isn’t a realistic fit — or a deadline isn’t realistic — we say so before you spend money.

Built for delivery

Budgets and narratives are written by someone who understands operations, logistics, and what it takes to deliver a project on the ground.

No guarantees we can’t keep

We control the quality of the work. Funders control the decision. We’re clear about the difference.
