Pricing & guarantees

Do you guarantee funding?

No. Northlight controls the research, strategy, preparation, and submission process. The awarding agency or foundation controls review and funding decisions. Northlight prepares and supports funding applications, but funding decisions are made by the awarding organization. No grant award or funding amount is guaranteed.

How much does a federal grant application cost?

$6,000 flat per application. That covers opportunity review, eligibility assessment, strategy, narrative, budget and budget narrative, required attachments, application preparation, and submission coordination. Federal grant details.

How much does a state grant application cost?

$3,000 flat per application for qualifying state grant opportunities. It covers opportunity review, eligibility, strategy, narrative and budget development, attachments, application preparation, and submission coordination. State grant details.

How much does a foundation grant application cost?

$1,500 flat per application for a full-service foundation application. Foundation grant details.

What’s the difference between individual services and Funding Partnerships?

Individual services are for organizations that need a specific funding task handled — a Funding Match Report, an LOI, one application, or Grant Management — at a published price. Funding Partner plans are an ongoing monthly relationship: Northlight becomes a recurring funding resource instead of you purchasing services one at a time.

How much do the Funding Partner plans cost?

Funding Partner is $2,000 per month: one foundation or state application per month, ongoing research and opportunity identification, a funding calendar with deadline tracking, and ongoing strategy. Funding Partner Plus is $5,000 per month: two to three foundation or state applications per month, more extensive research, higher-touch strategy, deadline management, and reporting and administrative support as scoped. Applications are not unlimited, and federal applications are billed separately on every plan.

How much does a Letter of Intent or Letter of Inquiry cost?

$750 flat per letter, including a funder alignment review, project positioning, narrative and funding request, one revision, and a final submission-ready document. An LOI does not guarantee an invitation to apply. LOI details.

Do you take a percentage of the grant?

No. Northlight charges flat fees for individual services and flat monthly rates for Grant Management and Funding Partner plans. We never take a percentage of your award, and our fee doesn’t change based on how much you request or receive.

Who we work with

Do you work with small businesses?

Yes. The Small Business Funding Package ($1,000) is built for businesses looking for funding beyond traditional lending. Many grant programs restrict for-profit eligibility, so we’ll tell you plainly what fits.

Do you work with tribes?

Yes. Tribes and tribal organizations are a core part of who we serve, for both applications and post-award grant management.

Do you work with organizations outside Bethel?

Yes. We’re based in Bethel and primarily serve organizations across rural Alaska, and we work with eligible organizations elsewhere when the fit is right. Most work can be done remotely by phone, email, and video.

Services

What is a Funding Match Report?

A $250 research report identifying funding opportunities based on your organization and project, with fit information, deadlines, key requirements, and recommended next steps. It’s the entry point if you don’t know where to look. Want to discuss the results? Funding Match + Strategy Call is $500. See what’s included.

What does Grant Management include?

Ongoing administration after an award, at $8,000 per month: reporting calendars, deadline tracking, report preparation, compliance tracking, documentation, budget monitoring, funder communications, closeout support, and general grant administration. The exact scope is established during onboarding; services aren’t unlimited. Grant Management details.

Process & timing

How quickly can Northlight get started?

As soon as you’re ready. We respond to new requests within one business day. Preparation time depends on the grant deadline, the application’s complexity, required documentation, how quickly we receive information and approvals, and the funder’s requirements. We’ll tell you honestly whether a deadline is realistic before you commit.

What information do I need to provide?

To start: what you’re trying to fund, your organization type and location, an approximate budget, and your timeline. For an application we’ll also need organizational details, budget information, any required registrations, and letters of support or resolutions where the funder requires them. We give you a checklist.

How does the application process work?

You tell us what you’re trying to fund. We assess the project, identify relevant opportunities, and develop the application strategy. We prepare the application, you review it, and then it’s finalized and submitted. See the full process.

Ready to find your funding?

Tell us what you’re trying to fund. We’ll review it and get back to you within one business day.
